Adventures in Thargothras
Also called the House of Ash, House Yslor owns the clay mines beneath (and and around) Healey. Their house colors, grey and brown, represent the ash and clay they deal in, respectively.
While the bulk of their wealth is earned and spent in the mines, the ash they gather from so many sources is equally important, because without the ash, they cannot maintain their trade. To keep bricks of clay separate in transit, they are coated with a fine layer of ash and it keeps the bricks from sticking to each other while also keeping them from drying out before reaching their destination. Most buildings (or dinnerware, or sculpture) in Viridonia not made with wood or stone are made with Yslor clay, which is both high-quality and of consistent consistency. While House Yslor is the least wealthy of the six most prominent noble houses in Healey, they are far from poor, and are considered one of the city's oldest institutions, as old as the churches and older than the streets themselves. And though their product is cheap, their income is as unrelenting as ever. When not being used to pay miners or ash-collectors or purchase equipment, their money is invested in a surprising number of businesses and charitable causes all over the kingdom.
